- Which organization is administering this belt promotion exam? The Overseas Masters Management Council (HĐVSTTHN) has been entrusted by the late Grand Master Le Sang to organize Vovinam examinations overseas and develop the martial arts in overseas territories. The HĐVSTTHN announced that a high-level and intermediate-level belt grading/examination will be held at the following address: 7025 S. Park Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98408 (Washington State, USA), approximately a 35-minute drive from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
- Who is eligible to participate in this belt exam? All Vovinam students worldwide who qualified wishing to take the advanced belt exam, and some students with yellow belts, regardless of country or affiliation with any local Vovinam organizations, if the individual meets the technical requirements and complete the required procedures, can participate in the 2026 belt exam.
- How much does it cost to take the exam? A nominal fee of $ 100 USD per candidate is required which can be paid prior to the belt exam.
- What are the eligibility requirements?
If you meet the following conditions:

a) Proof of completion of the current belt level (photo copy of the belt rank certificate)
b) You must be able to fully demonstrate the technical skills required for the belt level you wish to compete for.
c) Having sufficient training experience and having made significant contributions to the development of Vovinam Martial Arts.
d) To obtain a red belt, a martial arts thesis must be submitted (see the examination board’s guidelines).
e) Submit your online
application and pay the fee on time.

- When exactly will the exam take place? The exam will take place on Saturday morning, August 22 , 2026, in Tacoma , Washington, USA . If you are coming from afar, please make arrangements for time and transportation to arrive at the location before the exam to participate in technical review sessions starting Friday, August 21, 2026. - When is the deadline to register for the exam? All application procedures must be completed before March 31 , 2026. Please refer to the Promotion Examination Regulations for more information to avoid missing the deadline.
- How will lodging accommodation be organized? Some delegations will be sharing Airbnb accommodations. Individuals may make hotel reservation near the venue for convenience. Please contact the organizers to make arrangements.
